Announced Thursday, February 19 at its seventh annual Van Line Summit & Awards Gala, Wheaton awarded top honors to an outstanding driver in the network as 2025 Driver of the Year. To be eligible for these awards, individuals must first earn a Driver of the Month award between January 2025 and December 2025 and consistently provide superior service to Wheaton customers. By their excellent records in claims, customer service and safety, these drivers are among the best in the van lines’ fleet.
Richard Senones, Meehan’s Family Moving, Inc., West Palm Beach, Fla.
Richard Senones began his moving industry career in 1979 with Bekins International in Hawaii. After relocating to Florida in 1980, Rick continued building his career with Bekins Van Lines in Boca Raton, eventually stepping into management as an assistant manager for a Palm Beach County moving company.
In 1993, Rick joined Wheaton World Wide Moving as an Owner Operator, driven by the opportunity to grow professionally and provide a better life for his family. More than three decades later, he’s still proudly with Wheaton — because, as Rick says, Wheaton has always felt like a “mom and pop” van line that treats you like family.
Family is at the heart of everything Rick does. When he’s not on the road, he enjoys playing golf, relaxing at the beach, and spending quality time with his wife and their very busy family — six grown children, twelve grandchildren (with one more on the way!), and four great-grandchildren. He jokes that he works all year just to survive Christmas, but it’s clear he cherishes every moment and looks forward to the holidays.
One of Rick’s favorite parts of the job is the moment a move is complete, when customers feel relieved and grateful and take time to thank the crew for a smooth experience. To Rick, Wheaton isn’t just where he works — it’s his moving family for life.
Rick has earned the 2025 Driver of the Year award, an honor that reflects decades of professionalism, outstanding service, and a commitment to doing the job the right way.
